The men were randomly assigned to take either a placebo or an experimental drug called sildenafil, which is an oral medication that is similar in structure to Viagra.
Viagra is available in two dosages, and the drug is used to treat erectile dysfunction. Both drugs are taken orally in tablet form, and they work by increasing blood flow to the penis.

The recall includes a product that is sold as Viagra Connect and Viagra Professional in Canada. However, the packaging of the product did not contain the active ingredient sildenafil, which is also known as tadalafil.
The recall was prompted because of the potential for serious adverse effects associated with the use of the sildenafil product.
